Protecting Abortion Clinics
season 1, episode 5
December 22, 2020
On this episode, Polly from Sister Supporter talks to us about the anti-abortion protests that happen outside of abortion clinics in the United Kingdom, and why buffer zones are necessary to protect abortion-seekers. Sister Supporter is a pro-choice, anti-harassment organisation that campaigns for buffer zones around abortion clinics, in order to protect people accessing clinics from harassment and intimidation.
Polly Jackman (she/her) is a campaigning lawyer with a particular interest in reproductive justice, and the way the law is used to govern women’s bodies. She divides her time between working for Good Law Project, running private family law cases, and being a very proud member of the Steering Groups of both the London-Irish Abortion Rights Campaign and Sister Supporter. She spends her spare time with the wonderful women that fill her life, getting out in the sunshine, and hanging out with her glorious cat, Buffy.
